Generation hof, Leipzig, Germany
A regenerative community farm rooted in the heart of Germany — where ancient wisdom meets modern growing practices, and every seed planted carries the weight of tomorrow.
Water, woodland & wild beauty

For generations, this pond has been the heartbeat of our farm — a quiet, living mirror that reflects the skies our ancestors once looked up at. Families have gathered here to fish, to water their livestock, and to find peace after long days in the field. Every ripple carries a memory, every season brings it back to life. It is not just water — it is the soul of everything we have built together, passed down with love and calloused hands.
POND

This spring has never run dry, and neither has the spirit of the families who have drawn from it. For over a century, generations have knelt beside this water source — filling pails, irrigating rows of vegetables, and quenching the thirst of a living, breathing farm. It was here that children learned the value of nature before they ever held a tool. The water flows as steadily as the legacy it sustains.
WATER RESOURCE

This apple tree was planted by hands that are no longer with us, yet every autumn it still bears fruit as if in quiet tribute. Generations of children have climbed its branches, and generations of mothers have filled their baskets beneath its shade. It stands at the center of the garden not just as a tree, but as a timeline — rooted in the past, reaching always toward the future. To tend it is to remember, and to harvest it is to carry those memories forward.

Conversation about the farm & technology

During her visit to Generation Hof, Chandra sat down with the farm's founder to explore how tradition and technology can grow together. From the vineyard rows to the vegetable beds, the conversation turned to satellite crop monitoring — a tool that gives both large-scale farmers and everyday gardeners real-time insight into soil health, plant stress and growing conditions. It was a meeting of two worlds: deep-rooted farming wisdom and the precision of modern agri-tech, finding common ground in the soil beneath their feet.
About the map of hof

With no paper, no screen and no tools — just his fingers and the earth beneath them — Marco ( The Gardener ) drew the entire map of Generation Hof right there in the soil. He traced the pond, the orchard rows, the vineyard and the garden beds, telling the story of his land the way it has always been told — by touch. Chandra watched as decades of knowledge were sketched in the ground in minutes, a reminder that the oldest technology in farming has always been the human hand.
About the vinyard

The vineyard at Generation Hof — located at 51°20'05.2"N 12°15'15.5"E — is not simply a place where grapes grow; it is where the farm's philosophy takes its most concentrated form. The gardener walked Chandra through the rows, explaining how vine cultivation demands a relationship with the land that stretches across decades, not just seasons. Every pruning decision, every training of a branch, every choice of rootstock is a long conversation between the grower and the earth. What struck Chandra most was not the scale of the vineyard but the depth of knowledge held by one person — knowledge that RISCE believes must be documented, shared and passed forward to the next generation of growers.

From duty roster to harvest calendar

During Chandra's visit, the farmer proudly shared the documents that keep Generation Hof running like clockwork — a colour-coded annual crop calendar mapping every seed, every bed and every harvest week across the entire year, alongside a detailed weekly roster assigning duties to each community member.
